When it comes to protecting very expensive Military  equipment, be it small or large, Triple Layer or composite  VCI solutions can be used to create a complete barrier to damaging environments. This protection method is particularly useful where aeroplane parts  of unusual size and/or shape and requires shipping and/or storage for long or short term periods  eg 3-15 years  

Australian inhibitor have recently developed a  new and exciting VCI Triple layer film combining 3 layers of specialized polymers:

  • Outside Layer – UV Inhibitors, Anti Static compound, low slip and can be printed for client application.
  • Middle Layer – High density  for better MVTR protection.
  • Inside Layer – Comprises VCI Inhibitors to protect  metal parts.

How VCI’s Work

VCI is used in coated papers of varying sizes and Extra large VCI Laminate barrier bags. Ferro Foil™ virtually eliminates moisture and vapour while also forming an integral part of total packaging. Recently introduced Ferro Foil™ Bubble Pack combines excellent barrier/physical properties and VCI protection.

Masterbatch resins are blended into low density films termed FERRO-PAK™ and METALGUARD™ supplied in centerfold, lay flat sheet, bag on roll, and tube at varying gauges to protect a wide range of ferrous and non ferrous metals.

MIL SPEC, military standard packaging materials are provided to Navy, Army and Air force for packaging items such as gun turrets, fighter plane parts and ship valves for short or long term storage e.g. 3 -15 years.
